Teen Birthday

Pretty cold here right now, but it is suppose to warm up over the next few days, and our snow should all melt as we only have a few inches.  Have been busy curling normally just two days a week, but last week it was four days - lots of fun.

This digital image is from Mo Manning and has been coloured with Copic markers and Fussy cut.  DP from My Minds Eye and Provo Craft.  Brown ribbon and green dots from stash. Sentiment Stamp IC Clingables. Clock Ranger stamp.  Card for a 16 year old grandson.

We had a lot of snow here yesterday, it was beautiful looked like a Christmas Card setting!  Not snowing today, but it is very cold - looks like winter is here.

A New Family Golf Chick

My son decided to buy his wife golf clubs for Christmas last year because he really wanted her to join him on the links.  So over the summer she has spent quite a few days with him and their boys trying to keep up with them on the golf course.  Sounded like she enjoyed her summer and fall out there, so I figured this card would be appropriate for her birthday this year:

She was here for a small family party and yes she did enjoy the humour of the card!

The image is from Karen Middleton and I have coloured it with Copics.  The sentiment was cut out with a Spellbinders die and decorated with butterflies and stars from eksuccess.

The Journey

It's my grandsons birthday and he is turning 21.  He has decided to leave Burlington, Ontario and move to Calgary, Alberta.  He has a truck and a trailer as shown on the card.  We hope that he will be able to get suitable lodging and work when he arrives.  Don't know if he is taking his dog with him or leaving it for mom to look after until he gets settled.  His girl friend was transferred to Calgary by the Company she works for.  I do hope everything will work for them and that they will enjoy their new surroundings. Should take them three or four days to get there.

Used a google map as the background for my card - the route shown is the shortest one even though it takes them through the U.S.  (Hope they both have passports.)  Just added three sentiments and the truck silhouette along with the red dot stickers.

He does have a job here and I hope that he will be able to pick up something in the same line when he gets there.  He will be missed he is such a nice young man.  My friends are always calling him to take junk to the dump or move some furniture for them.

Ghoulish Boy

At last I think I'm ready to start posting again, away for a few days with hubby and then company over the Thanksgiving weekend.  Great weekend visiting with family, and enjoying too much food and drink!   Even felt better so that I went out to curl on Tuesday morning we won!  My first game of the season, got spares until my leg healed.

This image is from  Mo's Digital Pencil and was so much fun to colour with my Copics and I paper pieced the clothes.  Spellbinders die cut and used Hero Arts little inker for the background colour inside the die cut.  DP from K& Company - stamped sentiment and cat from my stash.

Flowers of Friendship

These pretty flowers are a digital image from Two for Tuesday, one of their wonderful free images.
I used my new Spellbinders die to frame the image and coloured the flowers with my copics.  The sentiment is on chipboard, and I added the brown pearls and one gold rhinestone also from my stash.
Don't know how but I missed the date, but this was quite late arriving at the destination!

Have to catch up with several more cards, so must get busy!  It seems some months there are so many more Birthdays than others, and then there is Halloween and Christmas!  Time does fly by!

Fairy Princess

Beautiful Image for a young lady turning 12.  Coloured with copics, fussy cut, Glossy Accents added to wings and Lady bug.  Background cardstock covered with a piece of netting with pale blue flowers, and small flower sequins with pearl dots added on one side.  Petaloo flower coloured with metallic paint. Charm from stash.
Have not made many cards, sore back and leg,  but pain only in leg now so must be getting better!  Couldn't seem to concentrate on anything for too long but hope that has changed too.  Very cold here to-day and rain most of yesterday, it really is feeling like fall.

Bird, Cage and Flower

This card is made up of  folder embossing, Gesso, Gellatos, for the background and then  Die cuts, a flower and a small sentiment tag, mounted on to plain teal cardstock.  I scanned it into my computer rather than direct from my camera.  The only colour that differs from the card is the feather, which looks red, it really is orange.

License to Drive Wanted

Like any normal 16 year old the thing they want to get as soon as possible is their Drivers License.  My grandson is no exception,  he is going for his written test on Tuesday next week.  This is the card I made for him For his birthday.

The image is from Bugaboo.  Coloured with Copics.  Flags from Heidi Swapp using several word stamps from my stash.  Metal cog from Doc Crafts Chronology and Cog Die Cut from Time Holtz.  Cardstock from my stash.

Walking or Golfing

This digital image of two old fashioned ladies is from TLC.  Made the card for one of my golfing friends, because I think the lady in the background is swinging a golf club.  I have paper pieced the ladies and the whole background, so no colouring other than copics for the faces.  Cardstock and the flower from my stash.

Boots Required For Summer

Well another card for a male, my grandson who is turning 21 and attends University.  He had a summer job applying sealer to driveways.  His boss had the boys knocking on doors to get the customers and then doing the jobs themselves.  Part way through the summer he decided he would take away their commision for getting the customer and only pay them an hourly rate which was lower than minimum wage.  They both quit, went out and got a trailer and a tank and set up their own business.  Last I heard they were doing quite well.

I don't very often do a CAS card, but decided on one this time.  So everything is very minimal.  The boot tracks are from Digi stamps 4 Joy.  I popped up the heel and the sole to give some definition and used a stamp which I embossed with red for the sentiment.  White and red cardstock on a black card from my stash.

Golfing for Fun

With eight grandsons, three sons, two brothers and several male friends I seem to make a lot of cards for the men in my life. I am lucky that most of them are involved in sports, are musical, or have an occupation I can base my cards on!  This card is for my grandson who plays hockey all winter, but loves to golf when he is home in he summer.  He is going back to start practices and training for hockey this week, but hopefully will have time for a few more games of golf.

Not the best photo, should have checked it before I gave it to him.   All the images are from TLC.  The designer paper is from Theresa Collins - Posh.  The green marker at the top is from Tyandaga Golf course where he often golfs as it is right here in the city of Burlington. (Also where I golf every Monday morning in a Ladies 9 hole league.  He golfs 18 holes.

Happy Anniversary

I got to go golfing a couple of times this week, Monday and Wednesday.   9 holes Mon. and 18 on Wed.  certainly had a lot of fun with my friends with only a few sprinkles of rain.

The only stamp on this card is the sentiment which was stamped and then embossed in gold.  The background is done with a Crafters Too embossing folder which I brushed with a Brilliance Cosmic Copper ink pad. (I thought I was using gold), but I liked the kind of pinky colour it left on the card, so I left it. The gold flourish, button and gold bow are from my stash. The white flower is from Petaloo.  I mounted this onto gold paper and then onto the white card.  Lots of sparkles from the flourish and the gold paper!

It rained again, but the sun is shining brightly now, not too warm, just right!  Hubby wants to go out soon, so hope I have enough time to post this.

Image is from Lili of the Valley coloured with Copics. The card is for a friend that I swear has a new pair of shoes every time I see her, which is every three or four weeks.  The turquoise circles strip is from Doodlebug, Paper Frills.  The flowers from Forever in Time  and the bow, charm and pearls from my stash.

Happy Birthday Box Card

Well, I finally made my first attempt at a box card - thanks to you tube - there are quite a few versions to check out, I think mine became a combination of several!  It was a lot of fun, but I must admit I have never ended up having to wash my hands so many times because of the glue that was all over my fingers!  The cardstock was from Colorbok and K&Company.  The inserts are all stickers except for the pinwheels.
I found I had to glue the stickers to a piece of cardstock before I glued them in place. The shiny paper they came on would just separate.  Didn't think to take a picture of it folded !

View showing bottom half of the box.

View from the front
Thought this photo gave you a better view of the layers.

This is for our friend who has alzhiemers and parkinsons and is in a nursing home, hope he realizes it is for his birthday!

Flowers for You

Not raining to-day so that's a plus!  No great plans, but must try to do some more gardening - the weeds grow faster than the flowers with so much rain!

Another image from Lili of the Valley, I do love their stamps!  I coloured the image with Copics and then die cut the circles  and the doily behind the image and the punched border in that very bright pink/purple cardstock.  Then it took me a very long time to find some contrasting papers to go with it, finally choosing K&Company cardstock and paper!  A few gems at the bottom, a bright butterfly, and a tiny Birthday sentiment all from my stash and it was done!

A Little Blondie

This card is for a cute little girl, did not know she was coming till last minute, so made this in a hurry.  But she was very pleased with it, and she thought it really did look like her!

The image is from  Digi Stamps for Joy - perrfect for summer with her ice cream cone!

I coloured her with copics, added the sparkly border and used some stickers as embellishments. Cardstock and stickers from my stash.

These are the birthday girls, their birthdays were a while ago, but I always like to have a cake and save their cards and gifts until they come to our  house to celebrate!  Kelsey and Regan, last time Regan visited she had short hair, cut just like the image!

I chose an image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Penlope's Party Wagon because I think anyone would just love her!  I coloured the image with Copics.  The DP is from DCWV.  The flowers are a die cut from Memory Box, and the sentiment is from Netty's Cards.

Pool Time

It is summertime here and that means that everyone has their pools open and my grandchildren do enjoy swimming!  Their parents have a pool in their yard - and are in it practically every day!  It is one of my granddaughters birthdays and I thought this would be a perfect card for her as she very much resembles the image from  Mo's Digital Pencil that I chose to use - she is very thin and has long legs and arms and long hair!

I coloured the image and background with copics.  The sun was from Mexico, the stars and starfish were from  my stash and the orange strips were cut with a Sizzix Die.

The Blue Convertible

Having some great weather very hot, but not humid.  Went to Ikea and purchased a new chair for my craft room.  I share this space with my husband - he has one desk, I have two and a table that pulls out if I need it!  If you purchase anything at Ikea you have to put it together yourself.  My husband uses a walker, but he decided he was going to do the honours of assembling the chair!  Did a mighty fine job with only minimal help from me.  Now I feel like a queen in my new green chair with the high back!

This card is for my oldest son.  He drives a dark blue Convertible in the summer, but light blue is easier to colour!  The image is a rubber stamp from Lili of the Valley.  I coloured the image with Copics and silver pen and used some Glossy accents on the windshield.  Used a brush and Distress Ink on the grass and sky.  Tried to add flying birds to the sky, but the stamp slipped, and the birds went behind the clouds. DP from my stash and sentiment computer generated.

I used this sketch from Paper Take Weekly:

The Beautician

Seem to have been away from my blog for a long time, was away for a few days golfing - but that was earlier in the month.  Since then have been busy with gardening, getting hubby to all his appointments and I just don't know where the rest of the time went, always something to do!  But, at last we have been having some beautiful weather!

My card is for my daughter-in-law for her birthday.  She has a shop in her home and keeps very busy, her clients miss her if she goes away for a few days. She does not live close enough for me to be a regular customer.

The vintage  image is from TLC and I have coloured with Copics and framed it with a die cut from Spellbinders, using other die cuts from the same folder on the inside of the card. The DP is from K&Comapny. The sentiment came with the image and I just added some small blue pearls to the frame.  The flower on the inside is from my stash.

Pink Wishes

Well, our weather has turned a lot nicer and I actually got to wear shorts and golf shirt without a jacket to golf in on Monday morning.  Had a good time, even though my golf was not great, it was a Fun day as we  were counting our putts and that was the best part of my game.  Our team won the contest.

A birthday girl with a tiered cake image from Lili of the Valley.  I paper pieced her skirt and shoes and then used copics. Spellbinder flower and leaves die cuts and flowers; DP,  pearls  and stick pin from my stash.   Butterfly with pearls at the top -E K Success punch.  The frame is a die cut from Sizzix.  DP from my stash.

Summer Flowers

Well I was going to post this last night, but watched the Voice instead and was busy most of the day, but I'm here at last.  Got wet shopping we have the odd good day, but too many rainy days!

This card is quite similar to my last one, but different colors and flowers.  I made the large one (Spellbinders die cut) and the three small ones (washie tape). The other two flowers are from Recollections.  Used a doily and added leaves, the butterfly, feather and the lace from my stash.  The sentiment is from Nettys Cards and the DP is from K & Company.

And added some other flowers from my stash. Leaves are from Marianne Creatables and Spellbiners dies.  The doily they are on is from Spellbinders cut from K& Company DP.  Lace, sentiment, jewels for flowers and butterfly from my stash.

Skate Board Boys

Started out as a bright sunny day to-day got to golf nine holes this morning, had coffee on the patio at the golf course.  Then as I was driving home just before noon, down came the rain and the temperature dropped a few degrees.  Our lucky day!
I enjoy working with Kenny K's digital images - always a bit of a wow factor!   The following two cards are for my Nieces twin boys birthdays.  Coloured with Copics and highlighted with some Glossy accents.  The background paper is from my scrapbooking stash.

It was such a gorgeous day to-day, sun all day and it actually made it very warm in the house.

Girl Drummer

This card is for my granddaughter who just turned 13.  She has just had two lessons on her new drum set.  She also takes vocals and keyboard lessons at the same place - one after the other.  She is really into Batman and always has her hat on.  I took her for a pedicure a couple of weeks ago, and her mother and I both got a flower on our big toes, but she got the batman image on all of her toes!  Neat!
She looks more like a boy than a girl in this image, but she is a beautiful girl who also like to make cards!  She made all the invitations to her party 11 of them, didn't show them to her mother and took them to school the next day her party is to-morrow after school.  The invites were her style - cool!

This fantastic image is from Kenny K and I have coloured it with Copics and a silver paint pen and a silver gel pen. I added some silver stars, Batman logo on her hat and shirt and an elastic bow from my stash.  The sentiment is from Netty's Cards.
